Conventional & Organic Pistachios

Pistachios are the seeds of the pistachio tree. They are classified as nuts, but botanically pistachios are seeds.

Two major exporters of pistachios are Iran and USA. The kernels can have different colours, ranging from yellow to shades of green. Pistachios contain fibre, minerals, and unsaturated fat that can help keep blood sugarblood pressure, and cholesterol in check.

They are available in different varieties and grades.

Cashews

Conventional & Organic Cashews

Cashews are a kidney-shaped seed sourced from the cashew tree. Two major exporters of Cashews are Vietnam and India. 

Cashews are low in sugar and rich in fibre, heart-healthy fats, and plant protein. They are also a good source of copper, magnesium, and manganese — nutrients important for energy production, brain health, immunity, and bone health.

They are available in different varieties and grades.

Almonds

Conventional & Organic Almonds

Although almonds are commonly referred to as a nut, they are actually teardrop-shaped edible seeds that are the fruit of the almond tree. Almonds contain vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber, and so they may offer a number of health benefits. Almonds are usually imported into UK from USA, Spain and Italy though USA is the largest exporter on Almonds in the world. 

Different grades of almonds on offer but not limited to are:

Hazelnuts

Conventional & Organic Hazelnuts

The description ‘hazelnut tree’ is not entirely accurate as hazelnuts are actually grown in a bush. Hazelnuts have a great nutrient profile. Although they are high in calories, they are loaded with nutrients and healthy fats. Majority of Hazelnuts imported into the UK comes from Turkey which is the World largest producer of Hazelnuts. They are also grown in Europe especially Spain and Italy.

Walnuts

Conventional & Organic Walnuts

Walnuts are round, single-seeded stone fruits that grow from the walnut tree. They are a good source of healthful fats, protein, and fibre. Walnuts are a wrinkly, globe-like nut that is the fruit of the walnut tree. They grow in a hard shell that, when opened, reveals the walnut.

Majority of the Walnuts that are imported into UK comes from USA, however China and India are also bigger producers of this product.

Pecans

Conventional & Organic Pecans

Pecans are a type of tree nut that’s rich in several key nutrients, including fibre, copper, thiamine, and zinc. Pecans are truly unique. Not only do they give food lovers a soft, yielding texture like no other nut; their smooth and creamy taste is also unmistakable. They are chock-full of monounsaturated fatty acids, a type of fat linked to improving total cholesterol levels. Majority of the pecans that are imported into the UK comes from North America.

Brazil Nuts

Conventional & Organic Brazil Nuts

Brazil nuts as the name suggest are tree nuts native to Amazon rainforest in South America especially Brazil, Bolivia and Peru. Brazil nuts are nutritional powerhouses, providing healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Pine Nuts

Conventional & Organic Pine Nuts

Pine nuts are actually seeds from the pine cone, therefore they fall in seeds category. They are rich source of antioxidants plus the essential mineral manganese, which puckers up bones, skin and blood sugar levels. Pine nuts are Ideal for Snacking, Sweet and Savoury Dishes (and of course pesto sauce!!). Majority of the Pine nuts that are imported into the UK comes from China, however, other sources include Russia, Italy, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan.
